Another equally important criterion for a healthy meal is that the meal is appropriately sized for the individual. Energy needs are affected by physical activity, age, and gender. An office worker who sits for most of their workday gets sufficient energy from a lunch composed according to the plate model: half the plate is filled with vegetables, a quarter with a carbohydrate side dish, and a quarter with plant or animal protein, such as beans, fish, or chicken.

Diplom for Kastelli for promoting healthy school and daycare meals

In collaboration with the food service provider and the staff of the Kastelli community centre, Kastelli has renewed its School Food (Kouluruokadiplomi) and Taste Alphabet (Makuaakkoset) diplomas. Both diplomas acknowledge that nutrition, sustainability, and educational aspects are taken into account in the dining services. Kastelli has held the School Food and Taste Alphabet diplomas since 2015.

The Taste Alphabet Diploma® (Makuaakkoset-diplomi®) is a recognition jointly awarded to a daycare centre and its food service provider for promoting daycare dining that is nutritionally, educationally, and ecologically sustainable.

The School Food Diploma (Kouluruokadiplomi) is a recognition awarded to a school for promoting school dining that is nutritionally, educationally, and ecologically sustainable. The diploma serves as an indication that the school is meeting the established goals for nutrition, health, and etiquette education in its school dining services.

Additionally, we customize meeting packages for various target groups. Our range of meeting and corporate hospitality catering includes a wide variety of options that support the wellbeing of both staff and their guests, without forgetting indulgent treats. Catering orders paid for by the company should be placed through the catering ordering system.

Oiva-Certified Excellence at ISS Restaurants

Oiva is a system for publishing food control inspection data, which makes the control results of food sector companies available to restaurant customers. In the Oiva system, food control authorities evaluate the food safety of restaurants. The inspection results are published in the form of smiley faces on the Oivahymy website as the authorities conduct their inspections.

Since autumn 2019, ISS restaurants have used an electronic self-monitoring system called Chefstein. We actively develop our delicious offerings, meaningful work, and our restaurant operations, taking food safety into account in all our activities.
